Reiseroute

Tag 1

Tuamotu Archipelago (Fakarava - Rangiroa) highlights

Tuamotu Archipelago (Fakarava - Rangiroa) highlights

Di seguito è una descrizione dei siti di immersione che è possibile visitare durante il safari in nave da crociera durante le crociere M / V Polinesia francese tra Rangiroa e Fakarava: Rangiroa Island, Tiputa Reef, Deep Blue, Nuhi Nuhi, Mypristis, Avaturo Pass, Apataki Island, Pakaka Pass, Toau Island, Teahuroa, Fakarava North: Garaue Pass, Maiuru Ohutu, Restaurant Pier, Fakarava South: Tumakohua, Tikehau Island, Tuheiava Pass , The Shark Hole, The Old Pearl Farm, Kauehi Island: Outer Wall.

Come arrivare

Tuamotu Archipelago (Fakarava - Rangiroa) highlights

Buono a sapere

Tuamotu Archipelago (Fakarava - Rangiroa) highlights

    FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

    Diving Regulations

Diving regulations within French Polynesia differ slightly from many areas of the world. Please note that Open Water divers are limited to 18m, Advanced Open Water and Rescue divers (or equivalent) and above are limited to 30m maximum depth, regardless of whether you carry the Deep Diver Specialty. There are regular checks by the authorities that these limits are being maintained so our guides will be very strict with them. In connection with this, you will be asked to sign this Diver Agreement and relevant Waiver(s) upon boarding.

Diving in French Polynesia can be challenging, even for the experienced diver. As such, we highly recommend our guests to be qualified to a min. of Advanced Open Water level with a minimum of 50 logged dives, preferably with some experience with diving in current, and holding a Nitrox certification.

    Visa Information

Generally, you will not need a visa to enter French Polynesia. French Polynesia operates a visa exemption scheme for several European Union countries. To find out if you need a visa to enter Tahiti, please visit the Tahiti embassy/consulate website at fever certificate requirements – check whether you need a yellow fever certificate by visiting the National Travel Health Network and Centre’s HealthTravelPro website.

Transit Via the United States – ESTA or Visas

If you are travelling via the United States, you will likely need to apply for an ESTA under the Visa Waiver Program or acquire a US visa.

IMPORTANT: From 1 April 2016, all travellers wishing to enter the US under the VWP will need to hold a passport with an integrated chip (an ePassport).

Passport Validity: Your passport should be valid for at least 3 to 6 months (validity period is dependent upon nationality, so please check) beyond the period that you intend to stay in French Polynesia.

Please visit for the most up to date advice.

    Currency

The local currency in French Polynesia is the French Pacific Franc (CFP or XPF). You can exchange EUR or USD against a commission at the exchange office located outside the arrival hall of Papeete international airport or at exchange offices located on the main islands (Tahiti, Bora Bora and Moorea). Banks do not provide this service. Large international chain hotels also provide this service against a commission and most of the main islands will have several working ATMs in case you want to withdraw cash. Most of the remote atolls (Tuamotu, the Austral and Gambier group, etc.) have no banking facilities, no exchange service and have very few ATMs. They also rarely accept credit/debit card payments and cash payments in other currency than XPF. Therefore, we recommend bringing cash USD or Euro and changing at the airport to cash CFP or alternatively withdraw the cash you may need for your stay in the remote islands when possible. In Tuamotu, exchange facilities are rare and hotels, pensions, restaurants and shops will accept cash CFP only.

    General Foreign Travel Advice

For the latest travel advice from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office including security and local laws, plus passport and visa information, please visit U.S. Department of State website, also has essential travel advice and tips for North Americans.

    Electricity

On board M/V French Polynesia Master there are both 220V with 2 round pin European style sockets. If required, 110V US style sockets can be made available. Universal adaptors are available, however guests are recommended to bring their own to ensure that you have the amount necessary. French Polynesia uses 220 volts and they use one main type of plug (type C/E). The most common is the plug with 2 parallel flat pins.

Opting for an “Annual Multi-trip” policy will also ensure that you are fully covered for any non-diving related travel of not longer than 42 days per trip.

    Select your desired program

    Pay through the secure website.

Prices start from as little as US$49 for the “Gold 7-day dive only” policy.

    Flying after diving

Current studies show that you should wait at least 24 hours after multiple repetitive dives before you fly. Please have this in mind before you book your on-wards international or domestic flights.

    Tips for the crew members

Crew gratuities are not included in your package. Tips are at your discretion; should you feel that the crew on board have gone above and beyond in making your trip as memorable and comfortable as possible, tips would be greatly appreciated. Your cruise director will provide you with an envelope that you can place your tips into, which will then be divided equally among the crew including captain and dive guides.

    Small print

This itinerary involves some long-distance travel and whilst we attempt to ensure the number of dives we have scheduled is fulfilled, bad weather can hinder the boat’s ability to reach a specified dive site in good time. Many islands require the yacht to move within the atoll for safe overnight anchorage. Your cruise director and Captain will, therefore, plan the best route for entry to the atolls and to hit the channel currents at the optimum time for diving. We wish to show you the very best diving possible yet the safety of all on-board remains paramount. In the unlikely event, we are unable to reach a specified dive site; we always do our best in offering diving at alternative locations.

We suggest you book your international flight to fly into and out of Fa'a'ā International Airport in Tahiti and that if possible you arrive in French Polynesia 1 day before cruise departure so you are well rested before the start of the cruise.

In addition to Marine Park & port fees, guests are advised to bring from 250 - 400USD (or equivalent currency) for any optional extras.

Open Water and Advanced Open Water divers are limited to 30m, even if you have the deep diver certification. Those with Rescue Diver and above can dive to 40m.

Diving in French Polynesia can be challenging, even for the experienced diver. At many sites currents can be strong and whilst visibility is typically 20m+ it may diminish due to an influx of nutrients. Due to the strength of currents, diving at night is not always an option. We will offer 3-day dives, yet the 3rd-day dive may be substituted for a night dive where suitable.

    Itinerary

This itinerary is a sample only and featured dive sites may vary or the sequence may change.

    Day 1

Safety Briefing, Crew Introduction, Necessary Dive Paperwork, Cabin allocation and ship orientation will take place before departing the Harbor. During the journey to our first dive site for a check dive, please take this opportunity to familiarize yourselves with the vessel and make yourself comfortable.

    Day 2 > Day 9

Your Cruise Director will schedule up to 3 dives per day, or alternatively 2-day dives and 1 sunset or night dive. The diving day has a typical schedule as follows: Light Breakfast followed by a briefing & Dive 1 Full Breakfast, Relaxation followed by briefing & Dive 2 Lunch, Relaxation followed by briefing & Dive 3 Dinner- if we offer a night/sunset dive, the schedule will be slightly amended. The following is a description of the dive sites you may visit during your liveaboard safari as the M/V French Polynesia Master cruises between Rangiroa and Fakarava: Rangiroa Island, Tiputa Reef, Deep Blue, Nuhi Nuhi, Mypristis, Avaturo Pass, Apataki Island, Pakaka Pass, Toau Island, Teahuroa, Fakarava North: Garaue Pass, Maiuru Ohutu, Restaurant Pier, Fakarava South: Tumakohua, Tikehau Island, Tuheiava Pass, The Shark Hole, The Old Pearl Farm, Kauehi Island: Outer Wall.

    Day 10

For your final full day aboard we schedule 2 morning dives. Plenty of time for off-gassing before disembarkation the following morning and your flight home.

    Day 11

After breakfast transfer will take you to the Airport or local hotel.
