    Tawali Dive Center description

    Tawali Dive Center basic informations

At the southeastern tip of the main island of New Guinea lies the province of Milne Bay and what many consider to be some of the best all-around scuba diving in Papua New Guinea (check our divers packages here). Milne Bay is the home of scuba diving in Papua New Guinea, where it all began from mid 1990’s by Bob Halstead. The spectacular dive sites of Milne Bay put Papua New Guinea into the world’s class map of scuba diving.

Sprinkle in to this mix some of the many WWII wrecks in the area, such as the Black Jack B17F Flying Fortress bomber just off the beach at Cape Vogel, and some of the superb reefs, and it’s easy to understand Milne Bay is on the “must do” list for most divers.

Among the famous dives sites are Coral Garden and Deacon’s Reef that was constantly recognized by Paradise Magazine as No.1 dive sites in PNG. Add to this the Lawadi or Dinah’s Beach which is the birthplace of muck diving and recognized as top macro dive site in the world.

Tawali is in a great location both physically and geographically, with pristine surroundings and its position on the north coast, which provides shelter from the prevailing SE winds most of the time. This means there is always access to the dive sites all year round.

The visibility at most of the dive sites becomes optimal during the wet season, from June through to August, and remains good to excellent all the way through mid December. October to mid of May is dry season with occasional rain. Water temperatures vary from 25 to 29 degrees in the dry season down to about 25 degrees in the wet season.

    Tawali Dive Center basic informations

    Testimonials

A world class resort in Papua New Guinea located in Alotau, Milne Bay Province. A nice place to go bird watching, caving, dolphin watching, snorkeling, diving and a lot more.

Alvin Cendaña Juanillo from Dominican Republic

Great diving in a picturest setting. Dive guides have eagle eyes and accommodating to requests. Lots of fish life and a variety of subjects in the muck diving areas.

    Jeffrey Shaun Ruxton from Australia

Natural beauty and precinct environment. Friendly and helpful staff. Great food. Great place to relax and unwind. Definitely a top premiere resort in PNG.

Leebas Ulaiwi from Papua New Guinea

Exceptional place, nice setting amongst the local trees and plants, exotic, romantic and beautiful. The staff are friendly and hospitable and the food is wonderful considering the remote location.

    Richter Pau Habuka

The natural beauty is breath taking & the surrounding is peaceful. The staff are very friendly & ready to assist. The food was great. You just want to go back. Loved it & had a fantastic time, will surely return some day.

Wilkie Nath from Papua New Guinea

Brilliant diving, pristine reefs and awesome dive guides. Great remote location where you will be able to relax and for a moment forget about everything. From White tip reef sharks and Manta’s to Ornate Ghost pipefish and Mandarin Fish. Rhinopias, Epaulette sharks, Clownfish and Octopuses. Stunning macro photography and exciting wide angle options. A truly unforgettable dive experience.

    Adriana van Leeuwen from Australia

I had such a wonderful time at Tawali! Snorkelling in the incredible reef, bird-of-paradise bird watching and enjoying delicous meals on the gorgeous deck. I was visiting for work, but I am already scheming how I can return for a holiday, with a troupe of friends! Thank you Tawali!
