This place is part of National Park since 1970. For this reason we can dive this place with a lot of fishes especially lots of groupers.
The dive starts on a shallow area at 6 mt. to continue on drop off to 20 and more meters. There is a nice anchor 3 mt. longer on the bottom, a nice spot for taking pictures.
During the dives is important to watch the wall to see morrays, scorpion fishes, nudies and various critters, but always check in the blue to catch some pelagic fishes as tunas or snappers.
Barracudas are always in this area, sometimes in a big groups.

In the south-west of the island and more specifically close to Ogliera's rock in front of the small beach of Pomonte on 10th January 1972 the Elviscot, an Italian cargo of 499 tons, left from Naples to Marseilles , ending up shipwrecked on the rocks, fortunately without consequences for the crew. The wreck remained with the semi sunken bow aground on the rocks, creating a potential hazard for swimmers of the nearby beach. For this reason, soon the hull was partially recovered and the rest completely sunk. Now the entire stern, the bridge and part of the forward side, lie on the sandy bottom, on the east side of the Ogliera's Rock, just 12 meters deep. The ship is completely covered with marine organisms and has become a safe place for many fishes. The ship bridge is easy to explore, through the huge upper opening. Passing from the bridge we can enter inside without problems, straight to the engine room where it is still preserved the entire engine system. Two large doors allowing to trace along a corridor where among suggestive plays of light created by the sun's rays that penetrate through the vents and portholes.

As the name indicates the small rocks of Zanca are part of a reefs that lie offshore from Cape Zanca, shortly after St. Andrea. We are at the west point of Elba Island, just in front of Corsica, where the currents are often very strong so it creates an ideal habitat for many marine organisms. For this reason, this dive site is one of the most renowned of Elba and deserves at least two dives to visit. We moor the boat directly close to a spectacular wall completely covered by red gorgonias (Paramuricea Clavata) from 25 to 50 meters detph. The wall is very long, impossible to do it in a single dive so usually we follow for quite half and then turn in a canyon which will lead us to a plateau at about 20 m. In this area live sedentary a big school of barracuda and snappers are often encountered. The trip back to the boat is a succession of canyons, tunnels between the rocks and arches, all colonized by porifers, sea daisies (Parazoanthus), nudibranchs of every shape and color, small lobsters, groupers and conger ... is a dive not to be missed!

Just after Capo Enfola we see a big rock southeast detached from the coast, the Spizzichino, a simple but very enjoyable dive site. Also the rock provides a perfect shelter to anchor in the days when blowing a strong Mistral and allows us to make a beautiful diving well with the sea conditions are not perfect. Descend on the South and along the rock bearing on our left a vast prairie of Posidonia above which swimm schools of salpa fish. Touching the maximum depth of 22 meters we can discover something different: conger and moray eels that share the hall, big octopuses walking around, curious groupers and a wide range of Nudibranchs.

The "Ship Rock" is located just meters off the coast of Cape Enfola, the dive takes place on the outer side of the big rock that, seen from a distance, resembling a ship. You can keep different depths because of the rock wall is very beautiful from 0 to 25 mt, wherever we have yellow gorgonias (Eunicella cavolini) everywhere inhabited by groupers and numerous Octopuses. Instead going offshore we find a wall from 20 meters falls almost vertically up to 40 and here it will be appropriate to always look in the blue to see pelagic fish passage. So this is a point where you can make two separate groups of divers for level although both profiles are beautiful and deserve a single exploration. The part closest to the surface offers special meetings with nudibranchs and sometimes you find pipefish and seahorses.

It is therefore a very simple dive, but no less spectacular than the other. The presence of fish is always abundant, especially numerous croakers swim with the resident groupers. The water is usually clear and shallow ensures excellent lighting and allows us to explore easily to meet scorpion fish, moray eels and small fish as much maidens, sea bass, sea bream and salps, but looking towards the open sea is not difficult to see snappers and barracudas drive a short distance. This dive is only for technical divers and is one of "deep pearl" of Elba Island and never disappoints! There are always lobsters and Astrosparthus, but the real peculiarity is that it is a cleaning station for sun fish (Mola Mola). It takes very calm sea conditions for this type of diving and still current at this point is constant even on the bottom making it a challenging dive but ensuring the spectacular sea fan of red gorgonians (Paramuricea Clavata) that well over a meter in diameter.

Here the sea is usually flat, especially when the wind blows from the south and allows us nice diving. Reached 18 meters deep we meet a first big rock encrusted with colorful sponges and inhabited by conger, moray eels and octopuses. It runs along the east side and we notice a second just ahead about 24 meters deep then a third, a fourth and a fifth so on ... so without realizing we are already at 40 meters and we have to stop. The current guarantees the almost constant presence of pelagic fish including often eagles rays (Aquila Miliobatis), tuna and amberjacks also large. Also, thanks to the current all the rocks are covered with orange sea daisies (Parazoanthus).
